Franklin Travel Guide

Located just 20 miles south of downtown Indianapolis, Franklin is a whole world away.  It serves as the county seat of Johnson County and feels every bit like Mayberry USA.  The courthouse square in downtown Franklin boasts quaint restaurants, unique shops where one can find fine antiques as well as clothing and other merchandise, and the historic Artcraft Theater.

For visitors seeking entertainment fun, the city rolls out the red carpet several times a year with festivals and events right on the square.  Its biggest event, the Franklin Fall Festival held the first weekend of October, features live, family-friendly music as well as a parade.
