Bedford Travel Guide

The city of Bedford is home to around 14,000 people. It has several elementary schools and a great high school. The high school has the former IU basketball star as their coach. The boys and girls club is very active offering sporting events all year long.
Bedford has plenty of places to shop and good places to eat.

Bedford is also known and "The Limestone Capitol of the World". Bedford limestone can be found in many principle buildings around the world. Including the Pentagon, the empire state buildings and the National Cathedral. A trip to the graveyards of Bedford, especially one near 9th and N Streets, can be rewarding for some of the interesting ornamental limestone headstones. One of the most impressive is of the desk of a mason who died; his colleagues carved his desk as he left it, with papers and other assorted objects on top of it. Another interesting headstone is a carving of a local character with a penchant for golf, since he holds for eternity his clubs beside him.

Since mine and my husband's hobby is geocaching, I can tell you Bedford has 1000s of caches hidden in Bedford and the surrounding communities.
