The lake has a unique golf course that any golfer would love. Out of St. Maries there are two scenic routes you can take.. The snake like Rte. 5 along the St.Joe River ( which is the worlds highest navigable river) Very popular with canoeists, Rte. 3 will take you through farm lands field with wild rice which Is very beautiful with the tons of wildlife lots of wild ducks, loons and geese to big game... absolutly beautiful country.. farther north up to Sandpoint, Idaho Is a nother tourist hot spot along Lake Pend Oreille. Northern Idaho has nearly everything to satisfy any person's taste .. Lush green forests, rugged mountains, great hunting - fishing, boating, camping, lodging, golfing, skiing and very friendly towns.. Just so much to list.. maybe thats why I take a trip out there at least once a year for the past 4 years :-)
