Sun valley Travel Guide

Sun Valley. Synonomous with supurb. It boasts the best mountain in in the US. Baldy. It's not as big as Vail. It's also not as flat. And it's not like the LA 405. You don't wait in line. You have just as much skiing off piste as you do on. And it's impossible to do all the runs in one day (it's been attemepted).

If you're planning a trip to Aspen or Vail and you actually plan to ski, save your money. Runs like International, Fire Trail, Easter Bowl and Upper River Run make Sun Valley one of the best destinations for the real skiier. We don't have a Ritz and we don't have a Planet Hollywood. It's about the skiing.

A word for the wise. Wait for February. All the ducks come in December hunting for the myth. Wait for them to clear out to see what the mountain is all about. Sun Valley does have the most advanced snow making system in the world. If someone wanted to fund it, we could have have skiing in August. So even if you catch it on an off year, you'll still ski and you'll still experience the steep grade of our slopes. It does not roll in steps, like Snow Bird. When you ski down Baldy, you actually ski down, all the way.
