The wonderfully lush and tropical island of Maui offers a variety of hotels. From five star luxury to shared hostel accommodations, there is something for every budget. No one need be shut out of Maui.

There are both hostels and surf houses here. The staff at all of them has wonderfully warm Maui hospitality. Happy Valley Hale Hostel is very clean. Patey’s Place Lahaina is like staying with family. The Northshore Hostel has great common areas where you can easily make friends. The most popular international party hostel is Banana Bungalow.

Kahana Falls is one of the lower priced hotels in Maui but is above average. There are many time shares here. The three buildings share one smallish pool and the peaceful sound of three waterfalls. Some accommodations have partial ocean views, Jacuzzi tubs and washer and dryers. There is a fitness center and a sand bottom whirlpool for everyone to share. Kahana Falls also features a gameroom, laundry and on site activities.

Maui Schooner Resort is a great for families and is a good value. A convenient location you can walk to everything. Rooms have beautiful ocean front views so you can enjoy romantic sunsets. The staff is friendly and responsive. Rooms are clean and there is a heated pool and hot tub. You can play tennis and shuffleboard or use their putting green and free wifi.

The Maui Sunseeker welcomes all but caters to the gay and lesbian traveler. It is close to town and across the street from the ocean. Front units can see the ocean from their balcony. Staff is very helpful and housekeeping is amazing. You get a fridge, microwave, stove and coffee pot. There is free access to boogie boards, snorkel equipment and wifi.

A bit higher in price but still reasonable for Maui is the highly recommended Napili Surf Beach Resort. This spotless property will make you feel like the luckiest person in Maui. The beach is amazing and there is a cove next door where you can snorkel with giant turtles. This is a place that is popular with families and older people. The rooms are apartments and are amply sized and fully equipped.

The all inclusive resorts you find in Mexico and the Caribbean are not commonplace here, though you may find some packages that will bundle things for you. Kona Village is as close to an all inclusive as you will get here and is one of the “Top 50 Tropical Resorts Worldwide”. Be warned, or delighted, there are no phones and to television in your room.
