The Albany Museum of Art offers a schedule of national traveling exhibitions, changing exhibits of Georgia Artists and community interests. Permanent collections include 19th and 20th century American and European art and one of the largest collections of Traditional African Art in the Southeast.
The museum tells the story of the impact of the southwest Georgia movement on the rest of the world while focusing on the role of the African American church and the freedom music that emerged during this period.
Thronateeska Heritage Center, established in 1974, is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to the education of our community in the areas of cultural history and science.
