It’s served as a trading post, a town hall, a post office and a bank and is certainly one of the most popular of Ft. Lauderdale’s attractions. The Stranahan House was built as a trading post for settlers and the Seminole Indians in 1901. Over time, however, it became a post office, community center and town hall reflecting owner Frank Seminole’s career as he became the first postmaster, a banker and businessman.
