Big pine key Travel Guide

Big Pine Key is part of the Lower Florida Keys. It is home to the Key Deer, a small kind of deer with a white tail, of which you find some 300 on the Key.

Things to do include a dive in Looe Key National Marine Sanctuary, or you can go off shore fishing or relax in the Florida Keys backcountry while flats fishing.

Bahia Honda State Park is nearby for an afternoon picnic or canoe trip. There also are quite a lot of nightlife opportunities, especially with Key West only 30 - 40 minutes away.

Accommodations are easily satisfied from a diverse selection of lodging ranging from camping resorts to luxury vacation homes. There are three wonderful bed and breakfasts on Big Pine Key: The Barnacle B&B (very unique with a wonderful racked beach and rooftop sunbathing), Casa Granda B&B on the ocean (beautiful home with the best breakfast), and Deer Run B&B (also a beautiful home, with lots of birds and deer on the grounds, which is a "natural" beach).
