Museums
Edit ThisThe Hagley Museum and Library, located on Barley Mill Road along the
Brandywine Creek, consists of, among other things, early industrial era
preservations, such as early powder mills. This is where the duPonts,
wary of possible Virginian secession, set up their first mills to
provide the Union with 4 million pounds of gunpowder throughout the
American Civil War.
