The New London area offers a variety of attractions sure to provide interest for the new, or the returning visitor. Be sure to allow at least two to three days to enjoy the area.

Located nearby are Foxwood and Mohican Sun, two luxury casinos. Mystic Seaport provides a fascinating look at a busy seaport of the "tall-ship" era. This attraction, presented in a clean welcoming environment, features full-sized sailing ships and a village typical of those that supported such activities. And of course any visitor will want to sample the wares at Mystic Pizza. Yes, that's the same one featured in the movie starring Julia Roberts. It's a full-functioning pizzeria where the pizza is delicious and the prices are quite competitive. Mystic also features a large, attractive and well-maintained aquarium. . .certainly worth any visitor's time. 

Nearby is the very large U.S. Navy New London Submarine base, and a "must-see" is the Nautilus Memorial and Museum where one can not only view interesting submarine displays, but tour the famous Nautilus submarine, inside and out.

The U.S. Coast Guard Academy is located just up-river from the Submarine base.
