Vail Colorado is home to some of the most beautiful scenary to be found in Colorado.  It is also home to some of the highest prices.  While deals can be found, it's mostly a city where the wealthy and the touristy come to play.  Vail, and other cities like it, are examples of Colorado's versatility and ability to accomodate, whatever the weather.  In the summer you can see people taking languid walks along the streets, window shopping, sitting at sidewalk cafes or just enjoying the beautiful mountain views.  You can also, if you know where to look, find mountain biking and hiking opportunities, giving you a chance to experience the mountainscapes from a hands-on perspective.  During the winter, Vail opens it's  ski lifts and becomes known as one of the greatest skiing venues around.  It is, however, pricey, with lift tickets being upwards of 60-75 dollars for an Adult Day Pass.  The ski lodges are perhaps the next biggest attraction for those less adventurous, who still want to enjoy the energy and sights of a ski town.  Vail is definately a great way to spend an afternoon, whether you're indulging your senses, eating at one of the many restaurants or just enjoying the beautiful Colorado weather.
