San Francisco is the West Coast version of New York City, the city that never sleeps. While in this amazing city you will be able to find plenty of San Francisco sights to do on any day at anytime of day or night. San Francisco offers something for every age group and every budget. Besides the entertainment you can also learn a lot about the history of San Francisco.

Restaurants

While in San Francisco you could spend all your time visiting some of the top tourist attractions. You can also venture off to some of the less known streets and find your own favorite thing to do. San Francisco is a very diverse city that offers food from almost every culture around the world. Make sure to add trying out different cuisines to your list of sights to see.

Beaches

You will find beaches, nightclubs, zoos, amazing parks and enough museums to keep you busy for a month. Some of the best sights in San Francisco can be seen while driving around the city. You can drive a road that has some of the tightest twists you have ever seen or drive over the most famous bridge in the USA.

Festivals

Some of the best sights in San Francisco are free and change weekly. Almost every weekend you can find a festival or some type of arts in the city parks. Be sure to pick up a weekly entertainment magazine that will go over everything that is going on in the city that week. You can normally find lots of free or near free entertainment by reading over the weekly entertainment magazine. 

Make sure to keep a list going of all the things you want to do. It is also helpful to write down places the hotel recommends and other places you see while touring the city. If you are unable to get everything done on this trip you will have your list for the next. Once you spend time in San Francisco you will be counting down the time until you can go again.

Golden Gate National Recreation Area

The GGNRA is an enormous national park that comprises many sites. The most-well known site is probably the island of Alcatraz with its federal prison. Besides that, there are several interesting forts, such as Fort Mason and Fuston and national monuments and sites, such as the Fort Point National Historic Site, the Presido San Francisco and the Muir Woods National Monument.

California Historical Society

If you come here on a Tuesday it's free, otherwise admission to the California Historical Society (CHS) is $3. The CHS has an extensive collection of maps, books, manuscripts, posters, photographs, and pamphlets. The photography collection contains more than 500,000 images including works by Ansel Adams and Englishman Eadweard Muybridge. In addition, 5,000 works of art can be found here that reflect all aspects of California history.

Cable Car Museum & Powerhouse Viewing Gallery

he cable car museum is home to a collection of historic cable cars, mechanical displays, and images dedicated to the preservation of cable car history. There is also a nifty little gift shop onsite. The Cable Car Museum is located in the Washington-Mason powerhouse and carbarn on Nob Hill. Admission is free.

The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge, built between the city of San Francisco on the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula and Sausalito on the Marin County headlands. The construction of the bridge began on January 5, 1933 under the aegis of the Works Projects Administration (WPA), a program instigated by Franklin Delano Roosevelt to create public works through federal funds and alleviate the effects of the Great Depression. Chinatown

San Francisco's Chinatown is the largest outside of Asia. The southern entrance to Chinatown is marked by a dragon-topped gate at the corner of Grant and Bush. Start your tour of Chinatown with a picture of you near one of the stone lions at the base of the gate.

Cliff House

The Cliff House is located at Ocean Beach, near Lands End. An historic SF spot, the Cliff House has been rebuilt several times and was recently renovated again. The Cliff House is the home of a restaurant that offers phenomenal sunset views. Seal Rock is just off the coast, and you can see and hear the barking seals from the Cliff House promenade. Exploratorium

Asian Art Museum of San Francisco

The Asian Art Museum of San Francisco is the probably the largest museum in the Western world dedicated to Asian Art. The collection features more than 17,000 artworks with over 6,000 years of history. Bernal Hill Park

San Francisco Fort Point is located at the tip of the San Francisco Presidio and beneath the arch of the southern end of the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge.
