Shopping in San Francisco
Edit ThisIf you think you are done with California’s great city without spending much money than you ought to, then you might want to check out what’s on the San Francisco Shopping list before concluding your stay. Not only is San Francisco home to known tourist spots such as Golden Gate and North Beach, it is also a haven for those who want to do shopping some justice. So, here we go with some of the best spots to shop in San Francisco.
Union Square
Who says you can’t get everything while on tour? It surely is hoax because Union Square has it all for you. From signature shops to galleries displaying the works of most famous artists such as Chagall and Picasso, Union Square offers tourists a wide array of choices to choose, or more specifically to buy from. It’s a bit upscale though so better prepare some money and never forget your credit card.
The Haight
If you are working on a strict budget, you ought to give The Haight a try. The Haight is known for the best buys it has to offer tourists and for the diversity among its crowd. From punks to fashion elites, this place is just the right spot where you can enjoy vintage shopping and people watching from cafes and bookstores at the same time. Be careful, though, as it can get real crowded on weekends.
Chinatown
Sure you have heard of this place before. Or if you haven’t yet, you must go see Chinatown out for yourself. This spot is famous among regular tourists of San Francisco. From the busy streets to the lively market, you are in for some food and souvenir shopping. Do not forget to stop by the Fortune Cookie Factory and buy a bag for only $3.
Deco Ghetto
If you find antiques certainly interesting and well worth their price, then you must pay a visit to Deco Ghetto and have a look at the great time-warping items they have to offer. The place is named as such because of the growing number of Art deco stores that’s been situated in it. Another Time and Decodence are some that you must see.
Western Addition
Exploring the cultural diversity of San Francisco while shopping has never been this fun. Considered as the center for different cultures in the city, Western Addition does not only boast of the parks and the festivals it’s commonly known for. Shoes, comics, and music CDs are just some of their products.
