San Francisco has some of the best nightlife and entertainment in all of California. No matter what you are looking for you are sure to find it in San Francisco. One thing you should keep in mind is that all bars close at 2am and smoking isn't allowed inside any public building.

Ruby Skye

Ruby Skye is a top nightclub in San Francisco located in the downtown area. Ruby Skye is the place to see and be seen in San Francisco and you might even catch yourself rubbing shoulders with A-List celebrities. You can find world-class DJ's spinning some of the latest tracks through the state of the art sound system. Dress to impress because the Ruby Skye will turn you away if you are not dressed your best. Ladies normally dress up and wear the typical sexy club wear. Men are not allowed to wear baggy jeans, sportswear or sneakers.

Punchline Comedy Club

If you are looking for nighttime entertainment without having to go to the night clubs check out Punchline Comedy Club. Punchline hosts different comedians every week and you are sure to get a good laugh. The Punchline Comedy Club also has a full restaurant and bar making it a perfect place to spend the evening.

The Fillmore

The Fillmore is a great place to enjoy an intimate concert. The concert schedule is always changing so make sure to inquire about the line up ahead of time. The Fillmore has featured artists such as legendary Jimmy Hendrix and hip-hop artist Timberland. Tickets are usually reasonably priced and your always going to have a good seat!

The Cellar Nightclub

The Cellar Nightclub has something different going on every night.  No matter what night you are looking for some fun you are sure to find it at The Cellar Nightclub. During the weekdays you can find karaoke, happy hour specials and college night featuring drink specials. During the weekend DJ's are spinning 80's, 90's, hip-hop and dance tracks. You can also get a VIP table with full bottle service. During the weekends a full dress code is in effect. Ladies should dress up and look your best. Men need to be dressed in fitted clean clothing. No jeans, ripped pants, white sneakers, baseball caps or sportswear is allowed for the men.

Remember that while San Francisco is the perfect city to have fun it you need to be safe. There are plenty of taxi's in San Francisco so please don't attempt to drink and drive.

Cafe (AKA The Cafe or Cafe San Marcos)

Edit This

Propbably the best mixed gay bar in the city.  A great place to start if your coming into town, it's got people in it every day of the week, and a very low cover charge on weekend nights ($2 last I was in).  The customers are friendly and on a weeknight the atmosphere is more casual and open.  The weekends are full to bursting and great for cruising.  It's a favorite locals' hangout, too.

The outdoor deck and balcony make it smoker friendly and the drinks are well poured.  It's at the head of the Castro area at Market Street.  The upstairs more..
