There is no shortage of things to do once you reach the southernmost major city in California. If you are an outdoor enthusiast you have to look no further than the majestic Pacific Ocean to quench your thirst for fun. On the other hand if you would prefer a more relaxed, tranquil setting you can find your fancy taking in the many historic and cultural aspects of this fine city.

Best Beaches

Edit This

San Diego has some of the best beaches in California. Coronado beach - located behind the Del Coronado Hotel on Coronado Island, one of my favorites (fewer people); Mission Beach - great beach town with several miles of sandy beaches and hundreds of thousands of tourists during the summer, teens and families love this town located between San Diego and La Jolla near Sea World; La Jolla beaches - there are several along the coastline of this very upscale community, some with sand, others just rocks, a few with seals and sea lions located just down the hill from the more..

Belmont Park

Edit This

3146 Mission Blvd. 92019 619/491-2988 tom forbes: Belmont Park was a seaside amusement park which went into a serious decline for years. Recently restored, it is now a vibrant shopping and recreation area in Pacific Beach. The Big Dipper Rollercoaster is always fun and exciting, and one fo the oldest wooden coasters in California. Several shops, including Emerald City for Southern California Style clothes, offer a wide variety of things to buy. But the real show is on the Pacific Beach Boardwalk, which is some of the best people watching in the world.
