Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and see
If you are not visiting someone in Oxnard, it is a great stop over on the way to or from Los Angeles on the Central California coast.

Driving up the Pacific Coast Highway (HWY 1 called PCH for short) you can continue through downtown which is the old route. You have to take the Pleasant Valley road exit, go across the  bridge heading west and make a right at the end of the bridge to get back to the old PCH. (It is also called Oxnard Boulevard as it goes through town.)

At the Statham Blvd intersection just up from Rose Ave. You can go visit two great car museums if they are open.  To the south is the Murphy Auto Museum that features 40 + cars that cover the years of American motoring.  On the north, two blocks up is the Mullin Museum's collection of Art Deco inspired French cars of the 1930s and 40s.

From these two locations you can directions to well recommended dinning from tacos, Italian, barbecue.  There are also three wineries that will let you taste their wines.
