Made famous by rappers Dr. Dre, MC Ren, and Eazy-E of NWA, Compton (located in South Los Angeles) is located in an urban area of the City of Angels. While not the safest area in Los Angeles county, Compton boasts an unparalleled history in the West Coast hip-hop community. While lacking in famous outdoor attractions, hip-hop fans should pay homage to Compton when visiting Los Angeles, but should visit during the daytime hours if unfamiliar with the area. The nearby Los Angeles Forum, former home to the Los Angeles Lakers is worth seeing, but it is the city's name itself that has made it such a Los Angeles landmark.
