Angels Camp is the home of the Calaveras County Jumping Frog Jubilee or county fair. Mark Twain's cabin (located not far from Angels Camp) is where he wrote the story of the Jumping Frog. In celebration of the paving of the main street the first (or second) frog jump competition was held and now every third weekend in May.
