Things to do
Edit ThisIf traveling with your family, one of your Birmingham activities should be a trip to The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. The focus is on how the civil rights movement has affected Birmingham through exhibits, events, activities, and programs. Their permanent exhibitions include a replica of a segregated streetcar, freedom bus, "shotgun" house, and a church. Other exhibitions shows in what ways Birmingham was affected by the Brown vs. Board of Education decision, and how after so many bombings, the city was nicknamed "Bombingham." If you need directions, ticket information, or news on upcoming events, visit their website at bcri.org.
