If you like jazz music, one of your Birmingham activities has to be a visit to the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame. Founded in 1978, this museum honors music greats who have ties to Alabama. Visitors can see exhibits for musicians like Lionel Hampton, Nat King Cole, Duke Ellington, and Erskine Hawkins. Past inductees have included Dinah Washington, Jerry Reed, Ella Fitzgerald, Sun Ra, Robert "Bobby" Owens, Steve Sample, Gene "Mighty Flea" Conners, Roy Yarbrough, Bonna Mae Perine, Alvon A.
