Cabañas Copal

Cabañas Copal The easiest place to reserve a room in Tulum...their website thinks of everything. The beach is sometimes great, sometimes small, depending. Nice beach bar overlooking the water. The rooms are smallish and primitive, but certainly adequate. Some people actually prefer the garden view rooms to the ocean view...they are a little quieter and not so damp. The dining room is adequate to good. There's a temescal (traditional Mayan sweat lodge) there and you can sign up for the whole experience at the front desk. There's also a small but nice gift shop.

Maya Tulum

Maya Tulum A pricey but lovely place to get the true spirit of Tulum. Rooms are generally spacious, under lovely palm trees swaying in the breeze. The beach is the best one close to town. You can walk from here into the little town along the beach for dinner at Zamas or any number of other places, go shopping, etc. Or stay and eat at the Maya Tulum restaurant. The menu is somewhat limited, but the dining room is a big palapa with a lovely view. If you like yoga, you'll love the two yoga rooms. They generally have a yoga class by a resident teacher every morning and afternoon. more..
