Pan-American Highway
Edit ThisAuto enthusiasts have been intrigued by the idea of being able to travel the entire length of the Americas, from Alaska to Argentina, since the inception of the Pan-American Highway in 1923. There is some debate as to what the route of the North American section of the Pan-American Highway is, because official routes have not been dedicated in Canada and the United States.
Mexico was the first Latin American country to complete its portion of the Pan-American Highway in 1950. Reasonable passage can be made from Alaska to Mexico, and on through Central America before the northern section of the highway ends in Panama.
