Things to do in Regina
Edit ThisSome of its main attractions are:
Wascana Park - a man-made, 2,300-acre park in the middle of the city. It is the third largest urban park in Canada and one of the largest in North America.
RCMP Depot - This is where all RCMP cadets go for their initial law enforcement training. The Depot includes a museum and a heritage centre. Every Tuesday between July 1st and August 12, visitors can watch the Sunset-Retreat Ceremony.
Regina Downtown - Seven hundred stores. 20 that are currently open. The others are condemed or going to get bulldozed. However, the 20 shops that are open include Regina's best main-stream stores and some of its best high-quality shops.
Maxwell's Water Park - Waterslide theme park with eight slides, river ride, flash flood and gator walk. Also has a picnic area, volleyball courts and baseball diamonds....and now it's closed.
Royal Saskatchewan Museum - Showcases of geological, ecological and First Nations history... It is very fun unless you are 5 or younger
Regina Floral Conservatory - Tropical collection of plants and flowers.
Casino Regina - 600 slot machines, 35 game tables, Canada's finest poker room, dining, gift shop and show lounge. Casino Regina is Saskatchewan's biggest tourism draw.
13th Avenue Site of the only interesting shopping in Regina. Features many locally owned stores and is the first place to go for anything not dead-centre mainstream. Also worthwhile is the 13th Avenue Street Festival which happens once a year during the summer. Here you will find many regional crafts and foodstuffs as well as entertainment. Last year included a free concert by Feist. Other attractions of 13th Avenue include the many posters for local events and concerts and the Cathedrals for which the area is also known.
