Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and seeAuthor Lucy Montgomery tells a wonderful tale of a girl growing up in the Green Gables area of PEI. This area, now the Island's most popular tourist attraction, is home to the Green Gables House.
The provincial capital is Charlottetown, a "must see" destination. The Confederation Centre of the Arts is well worth a visit.
The Confederation Bridge is the link between the Island and Canada's mainland (at New Brunswick). It was completed in 1997 to increase access to the province. So far it has been a huge success. The bridge is almost 13 km long and takes about 12 minutes to drive across.
Be sure to visit the superb beaches. Try Prince Edward Island mussels, an Atlantic Canadian dietary staple sought after everywhere else in the country as a great delicacy. - just add melted garlic butter!
