The City of Welland is located nearly in the center of the Regional Municipality of Niagara.
It is located almost due south of St. Catharines and Thorold, slightly south-west of Niagara Falls, and west of Fort Erie.
Welland is also one of the cities along the famous Welland Canal, linking the Great Lakes of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.
