Sights in Toronto
Edit ThisSituated in Canada, Toronto is a small version of the world itself. Toronto possesses a diverse ethno-cultural population. Toronto Sights will never cease to astonish you. Toronto is replete with natural wonders as well as man-made marvels. Some of the most exciting Toronto sights are as follows:
Art Gallery of Toronto
Toronto Art Gallery features the biggest collection of paintings crafted by legions of eminent Canadian artists. It also showcases the largest sculpture collection of the great Henry Moore. Ruben's T he Massacre of the Innocents , one of the most expensive painting in the world, is also on display here.
Royal Ontario Museum
The very sight of the Royal Ontario Museum will take your breath away. The construction with its blend of old Romanesque building style and very modern deconstructive crystal structure is very unique. The museum has 20 big halls exhibiting an array of artifacts of historical importance like world’s oldest totem pole, ancient Egyptian art forms, dinosaur statues and ancient Asian household items.
Toronto City Hall
The new Toronto City Hall is comprised of two magnificent semicircular buildings placed side by side. This is easily one of the best buildings in the entire Canada. The old city hall is placed next to the stunning New City Hall and with its classical architectural beauty it adds an extra dimension to the new city hall. The Nathan Square Ice Skating Ring, situated in front of the city hall, is also a great place for tourists.
Black Creek Pioneer Village
Black Creek Pioneer Village preserves the old and ethnic Canadian culture and lifestyle. There are over 40 very well maintained buildings in this area which are more than 150 years old. This village tries to portray the Ontario lifestyle in the middle of 19th century. The village is populated with ducks, horses and many other livestock to make it even more authentic.
CN Tower
CN Tower dominates the Toronto skyline. With the height of around 554 meters, CN Tower is the tallest free-standing man-made building in the world. This building was the tallest building of the world for over 30 years only to be surpassed by the Burj Khalifa recently. Millions of visitors visit this tower every year only to get a breathtaking vista of Toronto from the top of the tower.
Osgoode Hall
This historic building was built in 18th century. Since the early part of 19th century this beautiful building has been used as the law society building of upper Canada. The intricate cromatic glasswork and the nicely-decorated library adds to the building's architectural interest.
