This is a popular with locals and has been for many years. There is only perks to this place, a fantastic patio on the busy, popular and funky Queen Street West strip, great restaurant with walls lined with regularly changing and interesting art (in a good way), side bar with great service, fantastic international food to please all tastebuds, back room with nightly bands (some really cool ones) and best of all an upstairs, full floor poolhall, that has somewhere around 15 tables, with a bar that also serves food.

Zelda's

Edit This

Kind of kitschy, this interesting bar located on Church Street in the "gay village" of Toronto has some of the most interesting theme nights each weekend during the summer.

One of the visits was a "Gilligans' Island" night in which all of the wait staff dressed up as different characters from Gilligan's Island.

The wait staff may use a little tongue-in-cheek humor during your order, but are extremely attentive to every need a customer has.

There is a website for their events and menu.  Visit www.zeldas.ca for information.

Terroni

Edit This

If you need to know a truly great pizza-pasta restaurant in Toronto, this is it. There was a queue outside on a Friday night but it moved fast and I soon got a seat at the bar, where I ate. Nice atmosphere, good service, excellent pizza with really fresh tomato sauce on it and a selection of italian wines.

It's in the trendy Queen West area, get a streetcar from Queens subway to Bathurst and Queens and then walk a little further.

There's another branch downtown:
