If you enjoy hiking, exploring wooded areas, searching for waterfalls and going off-trail, then Hamilton may be the destination for you.
At last count 100 waterfalls and cascades have been found within the city limits of Hamilton earning it the nickname "The City of Waterfalls". The reason for so many waterfalls and cascades in Hamilton is that The Niagara Escarpment (nickname is "The Giant's Rib") runs through the entire length of Hamilton actually splitting the city into upper and lower sections. The lower section is adjacent to Lake Ontario and the upper section is more..
