The Rare Bird Pub & Eatery is a brew pub and restaurant on Guysborough Harbour, where the Marina is located.  The Rare Bird has a large patio looking out over the Harbour.  Inside the pub is spacious and has a stage for weekly Ceilidhs on Wednesdays and live East Coast music on weekends.  Upstairs is a pool table and dart board.

The Rare Bird is home to the Chedabucto Bay Brewing Company, which carries on the proud brewing heritage begun in Guysborough by Nicholas Denys in 1659, the oldest commercial brewery in Atlantic Canada. 

The Rare Bird has a good menu and a wood fired hearth for making pizza.
