Cellar Restaurant (The)

Located in the heart of downtown St. John's, this restaurant is well known and a good choice for visitors. Among the favourite dishes you'll find fresh and smoked fish chowder, warm spinach salad, scallops, lobster platter, blackened salmon, steaks and lamb rack and you'll certainly enjoy deserts such as a bakeapple cheesecake, a cranberry-apple crisp, a creme caramel or a tiramisu.

The wine list is quite long with wines from France, Australia, Germany, Italy and, of course Canada. The prices range from 26 CAD to 180 CAD for a French Corton Charlemagne '96. If you feel like a cigar, the restaurant sells nice ones from Cuba. Their prices range from 15 CAD to 89 CAD.

The restaurant has a smoky environment and seating for 58; the wine room which is ideal for a group of 20, the library for 12 and, of course, the bar room.
