The Forks National Historic Site
Edit ThisThe site includes a 9-acre (5.5 hectare) interpretive park and scenic river walkway along the Red River, toboggan slides and skating rink. On the adjacent property is the Manitoba Children's Museum 956-KIDS, the Manitoba Travel Idea Centre 945-3777, the Forks Market and Johnston Terminal. Legislative Building
Edit ThisThis stately neo-classical structure, constructed of local Tyndall
stone, rises above 12 hectares of gardens, and is topped by the famous
Golden Boy statue. Guide books available for self-guided tours from 8
am - 8 pm Mon-Fri. Free guided tours by reservation only.

Assiniboine Park Zoo
Edit ThisThe animals of The Assiniboine Park Zoo include representatives of insect, fish, bird, and mammal groups. Over 237 species are housed here with more than 1300 specimens exhibited. Emphasis is placed upon acquisition and propagation of rare and endangered species. The Assiniboine Park Zoo is open every day of the year and provides, a variety of programs such as 'The Lights of the Wild', Reindeer Sleigh Rides, interpretive play structures, a Zootique Gift Shop, and a Zoo Classroom running interpretive programs for students.
