Organized by the American Sail Training Association (ASTA), the Tall
Ships Challenge race series is a world-class event fostering youth
education, sail training and leadership development across
international borders.
Up to 30 traditionally rigged sailing ships moor in Victoria’s Inner Harbour during The Tall Ships Festival. This family event includes ship tours and demonstrations of boat-building, maritime rescue techniques, and marine skills. Other maritime entertainment includes: a pirate school for children; stage shows; traditional dancing; bands and choirs; native art and carving.
