Penticton Travel Guide
Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and seePenticton lies at the southern end of Okanagan Lake. Its main industries are tourism, fruit and wine, making it a fun place to spend some time in the summer. There are dozens of vineyards within 20 minutes' drive of downtown, two main beaches, endless biking and hiking opportunities, and plenty of watering holes.
All the tourist traffic can be overwhelming in July and August, but the shouder seasons of April-June and September provide the opportunity to enjoy the region without the very hot (but also very dry) weather and mid-summer crowds.
In the winter, nearby Apex Mountain resort has over 60 runs, excellent powder, lots of challenging terrain, and one-tenth of the crowds of Whistler.
