Lethbridge claims to receive more hours of sunshine than any other place in Canada. The area around Lethbridge is agricultural and produces crops of grain and sugar beets, plus considerable livestock. The area is also supported by oil and gas extraction.
Lethbridge, with a population of roughly 75,000 people, boasts itself as the the next largest city in Alberta after Edmonton and Calgary. It has two post-secondary institutions and many government services. Its trading area is roughly 250,000.
