Housed in historic McKay Avenue School, a provincial historic resource and the site of the first sitting of the provincial legislature in 1906, the museum includes a 1920s classroom, a 1950s classroom and the restored legislative chamber. Archival holdings date from 1881. Edmonton's first public school, built in 1881, is also on the grounds. Guided tours may be booked. Group tours by appointment. Free admission.
