Cochrane Travel Guide

Cochrane is a small but growing town in the picturesque foothills of the rocky mountains. The view as you drive down "Cochrane Hill" via the 1A from Calgary is stunning. The main street is pedestrian friendly with benches and a bronze statue. There are many quaint shops and Cochrane's world famous ice cream at McKays. For a great meal try the Blue Dog Cafe - book ahead during peak times, also the Prairie Smoke is pretty good. Cochrane has a fabulous network of pathways that can take you from the Cochrane Ranch, along the Big Hill Springs creek to the beautiful Bow River that flows through town. Cochrane has a super-8 with a waterslide, a best western, a travelodge and the Bow River Inn.
