Georgia Aquarium

World’s Largest Aquarium. With over 8 million gallons of fresh and marine water, 100,000 animals representing 500 species from around the globe and over 505,000 sq. ft of total space.

There are a limited number of tickets reserved for walk up guests each day. The Aquarium is selling out many time slots far in advance, so whether you’re using your annual pass or purchasing daily tickets, advance reservations are the way to go.

Philips Arena

Philips Arena is located in downtown Atlanta, near many of the city's other attractions including the Georgia Dome, CNN Center, and Centennial Olympic Park.  The arena is home to the National Basketball Association's Atlanta Hawks and the National Hockey League's Atlanta Thrashers, as well as the host venue for many concerts, conventions and exhibitions.

The Georgia Dome

 The Georgia Dome is home to the Atlanta Falcons football team. The Georgia Dome is located in downtown Atlanta, near many of the city's other attractions including the Philips Arena, CNN Center, and Centennial Olympic Park.

CNN Studio Tour

It is worth the time and cost to take a tour of the CNN facility in Atlanta as you actually watch some live broadcasts from behind windows such as the weather with a blue screen behind the person, yet it has the weather maps showing up on the TV screen.

We also were fortunate to see two CNN news anchors do their work and then we ran into them in the CNN lobby afterwards when they were on their coffee break. One of them was Anderson Cooper.

Stone Mountain

Worth checking out while you're in town. The mountain is made completely of granite and has a civil war carving on one side. At nights they have a laser show, and during the day the have all kinds of activities for the family.  Check their website for latest prices. There are also accomidations at the park for visitor's convenience.

The World of Coca-Cola

The World of Coca-Cola celebrated its Grand Opening in its new location on May 24, 2007.   With 60,000 square feet for you to explore, the World of Coca-Cola features more than 1,200 artifacts from around the world. Activities include:

*4-D Theater (3D movie with moving seats).

*Fully functioning bottling line that produces commemorative 8-ounce bottles of Coca-Cola.

*Over 60 different products to sample.

Atlanta History Center

A small museum in Buckhead with the full history of Atlanta, and to some extent, Georgia.  It is also has nice gardens and two historical houses, the Swan House and the Margaret Mitchell House.  A great starting point if you're looking to understand Atlanta.
