Heart warming pancakes

Edit This

Be sure to visit the pancake stall at the hawker centre in Tanah Rata. It is run by a very friendly mute couple. They make you feel so welcome and pampered, and the pancakes are fantastic! That's one of my fondest memories of Cameron Highlands.

A definite must for travellers who like the social aspect of travelling other than just photo taking and sight seeing!

They may not open in afternoons. It's a breakfast place.

Brinchang Saturday Night Market

Edit This

Lotsa yummy local food at the Brinchang market every Saturday evening.

What I love doing is to grab a burger from the street hawker (this is a Malaysian street-style burger, with pattie, ketchup, chilli, and egg), and then I'll just stroll around the market and pick up a few random strange looking local snacks as 'sides'.

Eat at a corner, or while walking, or bring it back to your hotel. The stalls do not provide seating area.

Roti Prata in Brinchang

Edit This

Have a roti prata in Brinchang!

It's a sort of crispy pancake made by flipping and whipping it on the hotplate. It's usually made by traditional sarong-wearing indian men. It's quite a show to watch too. And very delicious though not very healthy since they traditionally use lard and flour to make them.

There were 2 prata restuarants at Brinchang the last time I went. I can't remember their names. One of them serves a western version of the prata in banana, strawberries etc flavours, sort of like western pancakes. It's a nice idea, but personally I still prefer more..
