Eating Out in San Jose
Edit ThisWhen you visit this area, one San Jose restaurant to definitely check out is Falafel Drive-In at 2301 Steven's Creek Boulevard. Everything here is made fresh. I love gyros, and Falafel serves the best ones. There is plenty of meat and the tahini sauce is excellent. Other tasty entrees to try are the falafel, hummos, chicken salad, banana milkshake, chicken in a pita, and the kifta kabob. There are plenty choices for vegetarians as well. For more information, including driving directions, check out their website at falafelsdrivein.com. One other thing to note is that Falafel Drive-In is cash only.

Falafel Drive In
Edit ThisFafafel Drive In
Been eating here since 1973. Its more popular now but food quality remains high. The falafel's & banana shakes are to die for! One reviewer complained about order person's attitude. Their order-delivery process is a science. For obvious reasons they aren't thrilled when people are indecisive - so if you don't know don't get in line. As for ambience: older plastic picnic tables reminicent of a 50's drive-in are quaint yet comfy. The bathrooms have been upgraded and are around the back of the building along with additional parking. So go enjoy! You pocketbook won't suffer but more..

La Victoria Taqueria
Edit ThisLa Victoria Taqueria
A friend fond of bad-mouthing Northern California, where he's lived for more than 20 years, bemoaned the region's lack of hearty sandwiches. Like the ones he remembers from in Baltimore, Philadelphia, even Atlanta. A sandwich should bulge and leak. Ours were too prissy.
La Victoria in downtown San Jose, next to Jack-in-the-Box and across from Camera Three, gives the sandwich a good name: torta.
It's like a burrito on bread. Only better, because this particular bread does not get soggy when it meets hot ingredients. At La Victoria, the Mexican more..

Henry's Hi-Life
Edit ThisHenry's Hi-Life
A visit to San Jose would not be complete without visiting historic Henry's Hi-Life. Located just west of downtown, the atmosphere is...well...let's say festive. This is classic American red-meat cuisine. Bring your appetite and your sense of adventure. If you're in the mood for a steak, don't pass on Henry's.
The area surrounding Henry's Hi-Life is historically the only intact
example of a neighborhood of "working men" and their families who
immigrated to San Jose from Europe during the late nineteenth and early
twentieth centuries. It also more..

Trine's Cafe #3
Edit ThisIf you're looking for a fancy boutique-style Mexican restaurant, don't look here. This is Mexican food reality at it's best. The plates come hot and full. The chille rellenos are incredible as is the red sauce provided on the table (a hint of mesquite), and if they have any cocido left...order it. At times the restaurant is loud and crowded, and parties of more than four often present challenges. The juke box plays nothing but pure Mexican joy. The walls are covered with murals and mirrors, and the menus are under more..

Super Taqueria
Edit ThisFor great fresh cheap burritos, Super Taqueria can't be beat! Their carne asada burritos are the best as the carne asada comes fresh off the grill. Also their pico de gallo and salsas are a great addition to your burrito. There are multiple locations in San Jose to visit.
