Main Street

Main Street, Newark is a fantastic place to shop and eat, or just go for a walk.  Conveniently located right on Route 273, and alongside the University of Delaware, Main Street is full of artsy shops, bookstores, cafes, bars, and ice cream shops!  Stop by and spend an evening here on your visit to Newark!

University of Delaware Botanic Gardens

Located on the University of Delaware campus, and maintained by students and staff of the Agricultural College, the botanic gardens are open and free of charge to visit.

Paul R. Jones Collection

This very large collection of African American art is housed at Mechanical Hall on the oldest part of the University of Delaware campus.  The museum offers many events, exhibitions, and lectures and is a very exciting new addition to the University!

11:00 - 4:00pm Tuesday - Friday
1:00 - 4:00pm Saturday - Sunday
open until 8pm on Wednesdays Closed on Mondays, University holidays and during exhibition installation.   All events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted. more..
