Girona

The small Barcelona with a Firenzian touch. Colorful houses over Onyar river, impressive gothic churches rising over the urban landscape. The best preserved arab baths in Spain (Banys arabs). Unforgetable walk over the history through the narrow streets of the old medieval jewish ward (el Call Jueu). 100 km north from Barcelona (one hour by train).
Ideal town for just one or two days visit. I recommend to stay in Sant Feliu de Guixols, lovely sea-village at only 25km from Girona, specially Camping Sant Pol more..

Gay world´s capital. Sitges was time ago a typical peaceful fishing town. Montblanc

Only a 15-minute drive from Valls is Montblanc -- an intriguing medieval town filled with vineyards and amazing period architecture. Visitors come here to engage in activities such as historic walks and tours, and hikes that will take you through the woods and to tranquil waterfalls. In addition, visitors to Montblanc can take a hike up a mountain to enjoy views of the entire area. Once at the top, visitors can stay overnight in a serene mountain refuge.

Salou

If you are an amusement park fan stop by Port Aventura a mega theme park at Salou (60 mi/100 km south of Barcelona). Owned in part by the Anheuser-Busch Co. the park is designed with Catalonian Chinese Mexican Polynesian and Wild West motifs (the Catalans love amusement parks). 315 mi/500 km northeast of Madrid.

Tarragona

In Tarragona you can see Roman ruins and is about an hour’s drive south along the coast.
The ancient Tarraco, Hispania Roman capital. It preserve some impressive roman works like the amphitheatre, the 10 m high walls, some circus segments, and the aqueduct (2nd largest and well preserved in Spain). It also have a nice gothic cathedral, and a medieval center. Their Roman past did of Tarraco one of the World Heritage cities. 100 km south of Barcelona (1 h,20m by train).

Located around 59 miles west of Barcelona, the 1157 Santa Creus is an elaborate monastery that’s well worth the trip. Valls

Considered off the beaten path, the town of Valls is known as the “Cradle of Castles.” At roughly 62 miles from Barcelona, this is an excellent day trip for visitors interested in exploring attractive streets, monuments, sculptures, churches, and castles without the crowds.
