Jefferson Memorial
Edit This
On the shore of the Tidal Basin is found an elegant monument to the
author of The Declaration of Independence and the third president of
the United States, Thomas Jefferson. The rotunda style is based on the
rotunda Jefferson built at the University of Virginia, in turn based on the Pantheon.
The memorial is most beautiful in the springtime when the cherry
blossoms that are planted all around it are in bloom, but this it is
most visited.
