Her location is together with the top flight hotels in Merida, next to the Hyatt and opposite the Fiesta Americana. This makes it a bit far from the sights downtown near the Zocalo. However, the rooms are well appointed (though they can be noisy if facing the road).

Hotel Villa Maria is a lovely place to stay and an even lovelier place to eat. In fact, though I've never stayed there (and the rooms do look great, spacious, comfortable), I've eaten there many times. The food is good, solid European food. What they call Continental cuisine. There is a lovely bar and they fix a good martini. The ambiance is lovely...quiet, mood lit hacienda-style eating right in the middle of the city. There is nothing else like it in downtown Merida. If you are looking for a romantic or just quiet dinner, try Villa Maria. The prices...did I mention the prices more..

Hostal del Peregrino is a beautiful colonial house with comfortable rooms located in downtown Merida. Private rooms or dorms available, A/C or fans. There is a breakfast room on the terrace, and there are bikes for rent. Tours can be arranged to little-known places with a bilingual guide. (p.s. I just rated this hostal...I gave it a "1" thinking that was the best....and its the worst! My mistake!! Its a lovely hostel...and I meant to say it was 5 stars!!)

Hotel MedioMundo is a family-operated, 12-guestroom hotel, located in the historical center of the colonial city of Merida, Mexico on the Yucatan Peninsula.
