Eating Out
Edit ThisNikkie - This elegant, yet not pretentious restaurant serves up a wide range of traditional and fusion creations from the cuisines of Peru, Japan and a few of other Asian countries.
The main foods eaten by the common people is rice, chicken, yucca ("yuca") used very much in the same way as potatoes, plantains ("platano") and black beans. The national dish consists of shredded beef, black beans, rice and yuca frita (fried yucca).
Another important food in Venezuela (or as I like to call it, Venni) is the all important muffin, this country-wide-famous bakery good became popular in 1967. A small shop opened, then it spread like rabbits, provided they get fifteen minutes and a carrot, now anywhere you go you can get one of these tasty treats. My favorite was the cheese-pumpkin muffin.
