Sihanoukville Travel Guide
Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and seeKompong Som or Sihanoukville is becoming more and more a touristy place. It is home to some 18,000 people, and the city sits on a headland ringed by pristine beaches and overlooks the Gulf of Thailand. The main reason to come here are the beaches in the area. They are not really special, but good enough for some relaxing days. Sihanoukville is not known to be an extremely safe place so be aware when you visit.
There are facilities for snorkeling, scuba diving and swimming. However, who had been to Thailand before, may not enjoy the place that much.
The number of hotels is more and more increasing. Sihanoukville is also the only deep-sea port of Cambodia and Cambodia's coast is 354 km long! On the weekend a lot of people from the capital Phnom Penh come to the city to enjoy the idyllic pace of life and the great seafood available here.
