Eating Out
Edit ThisBe prepared to dine well during your San Francisco trip! San Francisco has well over 3,000 restaurants to choose from. Most San Francisco restaurants range from tasty budget meals to exquisite six-course dinners. The city's restaurants can be found on any given street and at every turn, in any number of San Francisco hotels, near major tourist attractions, and even on the outskirts of town. Expect a culinary emphasis on fresh ingredients - the hallmark of California cuisine.

Harris' Restaurant
Edit ThisHarris' is an "old-boys club" style steakhouse. Lots of dark paneling, generally low-volume conversation, and a reasonably extensive wine and drinks list. The attitude seems markedly less stuffy than Morton's, and the meat was better as well. Steaks-wise, the King Kobe cut steak is allegedly excellent, but don't be fooled into thinking you're buying the Real Japanese Deal. Their Kobe is raised in Oregon. The prime rib is tender and juicy, and the filet mignon is second to absolutely none. Do yourself a favor and pop for the $3 for a dish of brandy sauce to go with your beef. You more..

Taqueria Cancun
Edit ThisThere are two Cancun locations - one in the Mission near 20th and
Mission Street and the other at 6th and Market downtown. Both
serve the same fare but the Market street location is dirtier, smaller
and subject to crazier street folk.
Some prefer the Market street location for its authentic San Francisco
vibe while others will prefer the more spacious Mission street
venue. Both places serve the same fantastic Mexican food at rock
bottom prices. For less than $5 you can wrap your hands around a
super burrito with your choice of meat and have a more..

Ruth's Chris Steak House
Edit ThisSteak may not be the first thing on your mind during your visit to San Francisco, but after dining at Ruth's Chris Steak House, it may very well be the last! The 43-year-old restaurant (chain) started in New Orleans and it currently has dozens of locations around the world from Birmingham, Alabama to Tapei Taiwan. Besides juicy ribeyes and the popular Porterhouse for two, Ruth's Chris Steak House serves chicken, lamb, lobster, and veal. If you're vegetarian, try the grilled Portobello mushrooms or any number of sides or hearty (yes, hearty) salads.

A16
Edit ThisUpdated Italian, known for its pizzas, A16 uses the best of local fresh ingredients to create a wonderful dining experience. Reservations recommended.
A good location in the Marina neighborhood of SF, combined with excellent food, makes A16 always crowded on the weekends. Parking may be tough also - use the vallet around the corner near Lombard Street.
