Be sure to check out Hamburg Schnitzelhaus on 3246 East Bay Drive on Anna Maria Island. It is a small family owned restraunt with every dish homemade and fresh. . All of their dishes are too good to describe, but if you can make advance reservations there is one meal that you will never forget: It is available only on prior appointment and only offered on Friday evenings - call ahead and order (in advance) the schwinehaxen. You won't be dissapointed.
There is a also small very friendly bar with a large selection of wonderful cold German beer. You'll be sure to make new friends.

Edit ThisGood ass food that you will have to wait in line for. There is alway a line for this place, even on a weekday. So get there early and stand in line.
You should try the snapper fish which is fried whole in a curry sauce. The pad thai is great. The desserts are wonderful.
Price is average range for any typical Thai place.

Hob Nob Drive In
Edit ThisThe Hob Nob is a Sarasota fixture. The restaurant is an outdoor drive-in that serves delicious burgers, fries, and onion rings, among other things Service is fast and prices are cheap. Make sure to check out the daily specials, because they are actually pretty good. It is a drive in, so all seating is outdoors - if you come in summertime, be sure to cool down with a chocolate shake (really soft-serve ice cream in a cup) or a nice cold beer.
