The ancient fort is at an altitude of 1560ft. The fort has a Pinnacle on the top of it, which resembles a ‘Thumb’. The Pinnacle is 125ft in height and a popular climbing site for professional rock-climbers.
Karnala’s forest was declared a Bird Sanctuary in 1962 .
The latest wildlife census proved the sanctuary to be a refuge for more than 140 species of resident and over 40 migratory bird species.
