Lake Como and Lecco Ferryboats

Take your car, bike or just go on foot all around the Lake of Como on the ferryboat. Or just use the ferryboat to cross the lake and avoid the traffic and enjoy the beauty of the silent water and imposing mountains.

Trekking

Hiking in the Province of Bergamo is very popular and there are many old towns to see on some trails. There is a lot of interesting flora and fauna as well as geological sites to study. There are many locations available and of varying difficulty.

The Lake of Lecco has ferryboats that can take you and your bike or car to Varenna, Bellaggio and as far as Como.

The Lake of Como

The Lake of Lecco and Como is an upside down Y-shaped lake with two names depending on which leg you are looking at. It has ferryboats that can take you and your bike or car to Varenna, Bellagio and as far as Como. You can enjoy boating, camping, swimming, get married there, stay in a hotel or just relax.

Oftentimes there are concerts, art shows, fireworks and more depending on the day you are there.

International Meeting of Spelaeology

From 28 October to 1 November 2005 in Imagna Valley is the International Meeting of Spelaeology held in blocked off streets so you will be able to reach all the stands, films, banquets, bars and restaurants on foot. So park your car and forget it for the rest of the day! And go visit the grottos while you're there - it's all organized! You can even just bring only your sleeping bag and the rest of the equipment will be provided!

Under the Ground of Citta Alta

Take a tour under the ground of Citta Alta and see aquaducts, water cisterns, fountains, wells and bomb shelters. There is a huge water cistern under Piazza Mercato delle Scarpe. There are huge underground galleries for the canons of old. There is the Fountain of Lantro situated under the Church of San Lorenzo at the beginning of Via Boccola and built way before the year 928. Tours by reservation and depending on the weather.

Tour the Historical Palaces of Bergamo

Tour one or all five DIMORE STORICHE - the historical palaces of the oldest and richest families of Bergamo who were once the centers for cultural and traditional encounters and who still live in these homes.

The palaces are open for tours from April 23 to June 4 every Sunday from 10:00 to 13:00 and 14:00 to 19:00. Tickets are sold inside the entrance of each Palace and group tours can be reserved from Monday through Saturday. Tickets are sold for visiting just one palace, three palaces or all five palaces. Reduced tickets for ages 6 to 14.
