Baan Thai
Edit ThisBaan Thai, located across the street from Portland State University,
features a full range of excellently prepared Thai standards, as well
as their own specials, such as their unusually named Volcano Chicken.
Dishes are available from entirely mild to mouth-destroying spicy, with
a steep scale—waiters warn you if you order medium or stronger. Lunch
specials are a particularly good value.

Sivalaya Thai

features excellent food and a very warm welcome. The owner, José,
usually greets you as you walk in, always with a handshake and
sometimes with a pat on the back. An appetizer, Thai Ice Tea or Coffee
or hot tea, and a small dessert come on the house. Expect to pay $7-10
per person for reasonably large proportions, or up to $15 if you get
seafood or specials.

Le Bistro Montage

large, loud, busy restaurant featuring Cajun food and a wide selection
of macaroni & cheese, most notably their famous creamy and spicy
Spold Mac. Pastas, gumbo, jambalaya, and various dishes featuring
andouille sausage, alligator, and/or crawfish are available. For
dessert, the bourbon-soaked bread pudding is excellent. Large drink
menu with cocktails and wine; beer selection is limited.

Edit ThisSome of the highest quality conveyor-belt sushi available in Portland,
at slightly higher prices than other conveyor sushi. Still cheaper than conveyor-less sushi. Bar or booth
sitting along the conveyor belt, with a cheerful underwater theme. Sushi chefs will make whatever you want -- on or off the menu, as long as they have the ingredients. Friendly and attentive waitstaff have low turnover and get to know their customers' special orders.
